Counsel #14 — Questions Call For Critical Evaluation

Picture: Counsel #14 — Questions Call For Critical EvaluationCSe 24.1

Believing in creation doesn’t preclude the existence of numerous unanswered questions in biology, geology, paleontology, and other scientific fields. Even a career scientist, despite having significantly fewer questions as they delve deeper into their studies, continuously seeks answers and finds their perspective evolving. Modern science has resolved numerous questions, making it difficult for many to believe that life arose without a Creator and diversified solely through Darwinian evolution. Random mutations, often seen as genetic damage, cannot explain significant positive changes. Even some prominent molecular biologists who aren’t creationists acknowledge the mystery of evolution. Despite this, evolutionary assumptions still dominate much of the scientific community. It is vital to value the Word of God and critically evaluate what you read or hear.[22]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/faith-inspired-scientific-inquiry/CSe 24.2

“Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” John 17:17 NLTCSe 24.3

“There should be a settled faith in the divinity of God's Holy Word. The Bible is not to be tested by men's idea of science, but science is to be brought to the test of this unerring standard. When the Bible makes statements of facts in nature, science may be compared with the Written Word, and a correct understanding of both will always prove them to be in harmony. One does not contradict the other. All truth, whether in nature or revelation, agrees.” Ellen White in Selected Messages, bk. 3, p. 307CSe 24.4
