Many ancient civilizations, such as the Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek cultures, had creation myths that bear striking similarities to the biblical account. These myths often describe catastrophic events, such as a global flood, and significant changes in the Earth's appearance. Such accounts can be interpreted as supporting a shorter geological timescale, as they imply a relatively recent history of the Earth. Additionally, the absence of historical records documenting the vast eons of time proposed by evolutionary theory raises questions about the reliability of such a long timescale.
