    Counsel #6 — Historical Records

    Picture: Counsel #6 — Historical RecordsCSe 93.1

Special creationists often point to historical records and cultural traditions that suggest a relatively recent creation. Many ancient civilizations, such as the Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek cultures, had creation myths that bear striking similarities to the biblical account. These myths often describe catastrophic events, such as a global flood, and significant changes in the Earth's appearance. Such accounts can be interpreted as supporting a shorter geological timescale, as they imply a relatively recent history of the Earth. Additionally, the absence of historical records documenting the vast eons of time proposed by evolutionary theory raises questions about the reliability of such a long timescale. These historical and cultural considerations, when combined with scientific evidence, provide support for a young-Earth creationist worldview.[93]https://www.icr.org/article/why-does-nearly-every-culture-have-tradition-globaCSe 93.2
