Theistic evolution (TE) has its supporters, but the theory has serious problems. On the surface it may seem more consistent with modern science, but it is actually incompatible with both Scripture and science.CSe 36.2

The Bible describes a very real, continuous history of humans that traces back to the beginning of all complex life on earth. Although not all details of human history are clear in the Bible, it is evident that earth’s age is measured in terms of thousands of years, not millions. History begins with the creation account followed by a global flood, which both are reaffirmed repeatedly throughout the Bible. If creation is not true, there is nothing reliable or meaningful in the remainder of the Bible.CSe 36.3

Modern naturalistic science rejects the thought that there was supernatural actions at any time in earth’s or biological history. TE accepts physical evidence the same way as it is interpreted in naturalistic theories of geology and biology, but also accepts the supernatural. TE is actually a standard modern scientific theory of origins with God awkwardly inserted.
