Mammals, birds, and reptiles are found as fossils in non-marine Cenozoic rocks, appearing in a specific sequence up through the vertical layers. Human fossils are found only at the top, in the Pleistocene. The reasons for this order are unknown, but evidence shows it’s not an evolutionary sequence. Abundant genetic data indicates that evolution, such as a terrestrial mammal evolving into a whale, is genetically impossible to occur, even if given millions of years. Additionally, numerous fossils in these layers are so exquisitely preserved, that they must have been buried at catastrophic speed. The slow accumulation of sediment—a rate of one millimeter per year over millions of years—simply cannot account for such fossilization. Naturalistic scientists, committed to the theory of evolution and its millions of years, assume this sequence is due to evolution without questioning its feasibility.
