    Counsel #2 — A Meaningful Exisitence

    Picture: Counsel #2 — A Meaningful ExisitenceCSe 27.1

You may have wondered, “What does it matter whether we were created or not? How does it make a difference for my life?” Contemplating the answer to these questions is perhaps most important when choosing what we believe about creation vs. evolution. Thinking about it carefully, we realize the difference is greater than we can fully fathom. The creation story in Genesis pictures a God of relationships. He created us because He loves each of us and desires a personal relationship. Life is built on love and meaningful relationships, and on God’s promises for eternal life to come. Consequently, from a creationist’s view point, life is full of meaning and promise for the future.CSe 27.2

If there was no Creator God, no miracles, and life just happened by an impersonal, mechanical process — how would living be meaningful? There would be no basis for love, and no hope for a future life after death. If this view point is true, how did we come to have a mind that longs for meaning and personal connection? The impersonal laws of nature cannot make or even explain that kind of mind.[26]https://www.adventistbiblicalresearch.org/materials/an-orphan-in-the-cosmos-an-adventist-reflection-on-the-creation-evolution-debate/CSe 27.3

“All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3 ESVCSe 27.4

“This living God is worthy of our thought, our praise, our adoration, as the Creator of the world, as the Creator of man.” Ellen White in The Upward Look, p. 278CSe 27.5
