    Counsel #27 — Stand Firm

    Picture: Counsel #27 — Stand FirmCR 29.1

Imagine you’re sitting in class, and your friend leans over and asks to copy your homework. They say, "Come on, it’s just one assignment. I’ll fail without it." It might feel like saying no will upset them, or that helping them cheat isn’t a big deal. That’s how negative peer pressure often works—by making you feel guilty or afraid of letting someone down.CR 29.2

As young adults, standing up for what’s right in high-pressure situations can feel impossible, but if you’re committed to living with integrity, it’s essential. The best way to resist anything that compromises your morals is to focus on what is acceptable to God. Looking back at Jesus’ earthly ministry, we see He faced intense pressure. People mocked Him, doubted Him, challenged His teachings, and Satan even tempted Him in the wilderness! Yet, He never compromised His values. He stood firm and resisted the urge to please people who never had His best interest in mind. So, whenever you’re being pressured, lean on God for the courage and confidence to stand firm in your “No,” staying true to your values.[27] https://councilbluffsia.adventistchurch.org/ministries/testimonies-from-the-church/stand-firm CR 29.3
