    Counsel #2 — Bible’s Central Theme

    Picture: Counsel #2 — Bible’s Central ThemeCSL 28.1

The central theme of the Bible is the redemption plan, how God restores our sinful nature into the image of God (see 2 Corinthians 3:18). Looking at our own weakness and sinfulness, we might wonder how this could be accomplished. But what God asks us to do, He empowers us to do! God can give us the victory over all our failings through Christ (see 1 Corinthians 15:57).[24]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/foundations-for-our-common-humanity/CSL 28.2

“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3, 4 NKJVCSL 28.3

“The central theme of the Bible, the theme about which every other in the whole book clusters, is the redemption plan, the restoration in the human soul of the image of God.” Ellen White in Education, p. 125CSL 28.4
