Counsel #1 — Fruits Of The Spirit Looks Like…

Picture: Counsel #1 — Fruits Of The Spirit Looks Like…CSL 43.1

When you accept Christ as Lord of your entire life, His Spirit begins to renew you into the image of God. This means you’ll “walk the talk.” Your thoughts, actions, words—even your motives change; you become like Jesus.[38]https://digitalcommons.andrews.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1140&context=theses It doesn’t happen all at once, but if you don’t resist, the Holy Spirit will grow you into a good “fruit bearer” (see Colossians 3:17).CSL 43.2

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.” Colossians 3:12 NKJVCSL 43.3

“Those who have risen with Christ to walk in newness of life are the elect of God. They are holy unto the Lord, and are acknowledged by Him as His beloved. As such, they are under solemn covenant to distinguish themselves by showing humility of mind. They are to clothe themselves in garments of righteousness. They are separate from the world, from its spirit, its practices, and they are to reveal that they are learning of Him who says, ‘I am meek and lowly in heart.” Ellen White in To Be Like Jesus, p. 217CSL 43.4

Reflect: In what ways could you be “in the world” but not “of the world” (See John 17:11, 14, 15)?CSL 43.5
