    Counsel #1 — Guilt

    Picture: Counsel #1 — GuiltCSL 59.1

Much of humanity’s unrest and want of peace stems from guilt and lack of oneness with God.[58]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/1992/03/pams-tortured-conscience God longs to restore our peace and connection with Himself and will never turn away the one who seeks reconciliation with Him (John 6:37). When Jacob was lonely, outcast, and weighed down with guilt, the mystical steps to heaven reassured him with a message of God’s love and forgiveness through Jesus (see Genesis 28).CSL 59.2

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1, 2 NKJVCSL 59.3

“If we will come into close relation with God, if we will yield to God His own — our mind, our heart, and all that there is of us—we will indeed find peace and happiness that we can obtain nowhere else…. Christ has promised that if we yoke up with Him we shall find peace and comfort and hope, and we [shall] know by experience [that] His words are true.” Ellen White in The Upward Look, p.307CSL 59.4
