    Counsel #7 — Covenant Promise

    Picture: Counsel #7 — Covenant PromiseCSL 57.1

God’s eagerness to covenant with His people is the theme of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. How God longs to grant His people joy and peace today and life with Him in Paradise forever![57]https://adventist.news/news/my-promise-broken-gods-promises-kept The terms of the covenant are to partner with Him in obedience as a response to His incredible love. As we see the beauty of His character expressed in His law, we will long to be restored in His image. Then, obedience is not a burden but a joy, a grateful expression of our love for our Redeemer.CSL 57.2

“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:19 NKJVCSL 57.3

“The terms of the ‘old covenant’ were, Obey and live: ‘If a man do, he shall even live in them’ (Ezekiel 20:11; Leviticus 18:5); but ‘cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them.’ Deuteronomy 27:26. The ‘new covenant’ was established upon ‘better promises’—the promise of forgiveness of sins and of the grace of God to renew the heart and bring it into harmony with the principles of God's law.” Ellen White in Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 372CSL 57.4

Reflect: Do you ask God every day to write His law on your heart and enable you to live in harmony with it? (See Jeremiah 31:33, 34)CSL 57.5
