    Counsel #7 — God’s Presence And Guidance

    Picture: Counsel #7 — God’s Presence And GuidanceCSL 73.1

We don’t always think of the spiritual connotations of being mindful. It’s easy to switch into “survival mode” when we face lots of pressures and deadlines, hoping we make it at least somewhat successfully through the day. But what if we were to apply the principle of mindfulness to the practice of focusing on the presence and guidance of God?CSL 73.2

Try kneeling in worship of God first thing when you wake up. Ask Him to help you recognize His presence and guidance throughout the day.[73]https://adventistreview.org/2007-1505/2007-1505-22/CSL 73.3

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalms 16:11 NKJVCSL 73.4

“Take God with you in every place. The door is open for every son and daughter of God. The Lord is not far from the soul who seeks Him. The reason why so many are left to themselves in places of temptation is because they do not set the Lord ever before them…. If God be left out of sight, if our faith and our communion with God are broken, the soul is in positive danger.” Ellen White in This Day with God, p. 232CSL 73.5

Reflect: How can you better treat God as your best Friend and confidant, rather than a mere acquaintance?CSL 73.6
