Counsel #5 — How Jesus’ Death Saves Us

Picture: Counsel #5 — How Jesus’ Death Saves UsCSL 95.1

You may ask, “How does Jesus' death on the cross bring me salvation?” The Bible says the consequence of sin is death.[101]Romans 6:23 Everyone but Jesus has sinned and has been separated from God, our Life-giver. Jesus, being sinless, chose to pay that penalty for you and me, offering Himself as a perfect substitute. His death, a profound act of love, reconciles us to God, breaking the barrier caused by sin. Jesus’ sacrifice not only secures forgiveness for your sins, but also gives you divine power to overcome sin's control and live in harmony with God's law.CSL 95.2

The resurrection of Jesus, following His death, guarantees that you can have ultimate victory over sin and death too, offering hope for eternal life to you and all who accept Him as Lord and Savior.[102]https://www.adventist.org/life-death-and-resurrection-of-christ/ CSL 95.3

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 NRSCSL 95.4

“In giving His Son to die for us, our heavenly Father made a great sacrifice and paid a high price to redeem us. Such a great price should help us understand what God hopes we may become through Christ.” Ellen White in Steps to Jesus, p.94CSL 95.5
