    Counsel #1 — Prayer

    Picture: Counsel #1 — PrayerCMH 3.1

It can be hard to find peace of mind, body, and spirit in a world that is becoming more and more polarized, uncertain, and stressful. The Bible tells us that God has promised us peace, but how do we get it?CMH 3.2

Learn to pray to Jesus like you would talk to a wise and trusted friend.[1]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/prayer/ This is the most important thing you can do for your peace of mind. Let Him into your heart and tell Him the truth about your worries and fears. Ask Him to help you trust Him more in everything, and picture Him right next to you.CMH 3.3

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 NKJVCMH 3.4

“Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him…. Nothing that concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p.100.1CMH 3.5

Reflect: Are your prayers hurried, occasional and even superficial? How can you be more deliberate about incorporating prayer into your daily routine as a means of connecting with God and seeking His peace?CMH 3.6
