The Bible is full of wisdom and guidance for making wise decisions.[69]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEdhp6b6Izs&ab_channel=BibleMunch Though it may not offer specific counsel for each situation, its principles—general moral rules of conduct that never change—can give us guidance (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).CMH 65.2

Here are some examples of biblical principles to help in making decisions:CMH 65.3

  • Love God and love your neighbor. (Matthew 22:37-39) Put the needs of others ahead of your own and make decisions that are in the best interests of everyone involved.
  • Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Matthew 7:12) Be fair and considerate in our dealings with others.
  • Seek God's will in everything. (Proverbs 3:5, 6) Pray for guidance and trust that God will lead you in the right direction.
  • “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalms 119:105 NKJVCMH 65.4

“We do not earn salvation by our obedience, for salvation is the free gift of God, to be received by faith.... If we abide in Christ, if the love of God dwells in us, our feelings, our thoughts, our purposes, our actions, will be in harmony with the will of God as expressed in the precepts of His holy law.” Ellen White in Reflecting Christ, p. 274.3CMH 65.5
