Counsel #14 — Early Morning Connection

Picture: Counsel #14 — Early Morning ConnectionCMH 96.1

Many people, including Jesus in His humanity (see Mark 1:35), find the greatest blessing in coming into God’s presence early in the morning, before the start of the day’s round of activities. This early morning alone-time with God helps us connect intimately with Him just as the vine is linked directly to the Branch (see John 15:1-8).[98]https://www.adventistbiblicalresearch.org/materials/a-morning-meditation/  CMH 96.2

“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You.” Psalms 633:1a CMH 96.3

“Consecrate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work. Let your prayer be, ‘Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide in me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee.’ This is a daily matter. Each morning consecrate yourself to God for that day. Surrender all your plans to Him, to be carried out or given up as His providence shall indicate. Thus day by day you may be giving your life into the hands of God, and thus your life will be molded more and more after the life of Christ.” Ellen White in Homeward Bound, p. 147.3CMH 96.4

Reflect: Do you come into the presence of God every morning? If so, why would you recommend doing this? If not, would you consider doing so tomorrow morning?CMH 96.5
