    Counsel #7 — What’s Important?

    Picture: Counsel #7 — What’s Important?CMH 41.1

Relentless striving is a common problem. We chase achievements like dust devils in the desert, whipped by anxieties of "not enough.” Before the sandstorm consumes you, seek solace from a different perspective. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33CMH 41.3

“This is the first great object—the kingdom of heaven, the righteousness of Christ. Other objects to be attained should be secondary to these. Are personal attractions, ability, or talents too valuable to devote to God, the Author of your being, He who watches over you every moment? Are your qualifications too precious to devote to God?” Ellen White in Maranatha, p. 71CMH 41.4

Reflect: Today’s counsel references Matthew 6:33, reminding us to prioritize God’s Kingdom above worldly pursuits. What would it mean for you to “seek first” God’s will? CMH 41.5
