Counsel #4 — God As Friend

Picture: Counsel #4 — God As FriendCMH 86.1

In your alone time with God, you may talk to Him with more freedom and transparency than you would to an earthly friend. Expect Him to answer through His Word and through impressions on your heart made by the Holy Spirit. Being alone with God does not equate to being lonely! Solitude with God helps us hear His voice more clearly and frees us from restlessness and anxiety.[88]https://adventistreview.org/2007-1505/2007-1505-22/CMH 86.2

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 NKJVCMH 86.3

“Take to [God] everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds. He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p. 100CMH 86.4
