    Counsel #3 — Christianity’s Unique Lens

    Picture: Counsel #3 — Christianity’s Unique LensCMH 29.1

Deists believe that God exists, but not as a Savior who’s interested in their personal affairs. In their view, He’s some kind of a cosmic force that somehow initiated the universe and human history, and then left it to run on its own.CMH 29.2

However, the Bible teaches that Jesus didn’t just create the world and all that is in it (see Genesis 1 and 2), He is also interested in every aspect of our lives. He’s Immanuel—God with us.CMH 29.3

Seeing Jesus as an involved, personal, compassionate Savior and Friend will help us find a confident identity in Him, who longs to be our Burden-bearer (see John 15:15; Matthew 11:29, 30).[27]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/gods-care/CMH 29.4

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12 NKJVCMH 29.5

“Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God…. His heart of love is touched by our sorrows and even by our utterances of them. Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p. 100CMH 29.6

Reflect: Do you sometimes get caught up in the Deist's perspective, feeling distant or insignificant? Imagine living every day with the unwavering certainty that Christ sees you, cherishes you, and walks beside you.CMH 29.7
