    Counsel #6 — Seek Advice

    Picture: Counsel #6 — Seek AdviceCMH 64.1

Talk to trusted Christian advisors, especially before making a big or life-altering decision.[68]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHHCGjrw9QA&ab_channel=EdenMedia This could include a pastor, mentor, friend, or family member. Make sure to choose your advisors carefully! Though godly counselors can offer you support and guidance, pray with you, and help you to see things from a different perspective, the wrong counselors could lead you toward calamity.CMH 64.2

The Bible has many examples of people who sought advice before making big decisions. For instance, when Abraham was asked to leave his home and go to a new land, he consulted with his wife Sarah and his nephew Lot (Genesis 12:1-5). When Moses was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he asked for advice from his father-in-law Jethro (Exodus 18:13-27). And when David was offered the throne of Israel, he consulted with God and with his advisors
    (2 Samuel 5:3-5).
