Counsel #9 — The Life, Death, And Resurrection Of Jesus Christ

Picture: Counsel #9 — The Life, Death, And Resurrection Of Jesus ChristCCL 19.1

Through Jesus' perfect life, His suffering, death, and miraculous resurrection, God offers humanity a path to redemption. This act of atonement[24]A reparation for a wrong or injury and sacrifice, freely given by Jesus, allows those who believe in Him to receive forgiveness and eternal life.[25]Hebrews 2:9 It's a powerful demonstration of God's boundless love that both exposes the depth of human sin and offers a way back to Him. Jesus' death serves a dual purpose: it upholds the justness of God's law, while also revealing His incredible grace and mercy. By dying on the cross, Jesus took the punishment for our sin, offering reconciliation and a chance to transform our lives. Furthermore, His physical resurrection signifies God's victory over evil and death, which can also be our victory. Finally, the resurrection establishes Jesus' rightful place as Lord and King, deserving the respect and worship of all creation.[26]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/adventist-beliefs/life-death-and-resurrection-of-jesus/CCL 19.2

“The redemption that Christ achieved for man was at infinite cost to Himself. The victory we gain over our own evil hearts and over the temptations of Satan will cost us strong effort, constant watchfulness, and persevering prayer; but, gaining the victory through the all-powerful name of Jesus, we become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ.” Ellen White in Bible Echo, January 1, 1893, par. 6CCL 19.4

Reflect: What does it mean to live as an heir of God in your daily life?CCL 19.5
