Counsel #3 — Work With Leaders

Picture: Counsel #3 — Work With LeadersCCL 74.1

When starting a study group, figuring out where to begin can be difficult, especially if you want to do it through your church.[99]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/1982/04/small-group-evangelism One simple way to get started is by finding a church board member or elder willing to vouch for your group. Having an ambassador like this can be helpful, especially if you’re using church property. Churches often have a formal process for adding activities to their calendar, which you might not be familiar with. They may also need to officially approve the group to ensure insurance coverage and room availability. If things don’t go as planned, having someone with more church experience to turn to for help can make a big difference.CCL 74.2

“Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.” Hebrews 13:7CCL 74.3

“The work of God in this earth can never be finished until the men and women comprising our membership rally to the work, and unite their efforts with those of ministers and church officers.” Ellen White in The Review and Herald, September 11, 1913, par. 4 CCL 74.4

Reflect: What next step can you take to begin forming a study group? What will you study, where, and when?CCL 74.5
