Counsel #4 — Ay Is For Everyone

Picture: Counsel #4 — Ay Is For EveryoneCCL 6.1

The Adventist Youth (AY) program is a ministry run by young people that aims to benefit the entire church community, regardless of age.[4]To learn how you can get started with AY, visit:https://www.gcyouthministries.org/leadership-training/ay-model/ In the Bible, Paul mentored Timothy and advised him to treat everyone as if they were family. This meant that Timothy needed to approach others with respect and kindness, just like he did with his own family, whether he needed to correct, advise, encourage, or comfort them. This is the essence of AY - bringing people from different backgrounds together as a family to learn and grow together.CCL 6.2

"Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity." 1 Timothy 5:1, 2CCL 6.3

“Young men, young women, you are a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. By your determined efforts to be true and righteous, laying your foundation secure in faith, you may be able to provoke the older and more experienced brethren and sisters to love and good works.” Ellen White in The Youth’s Instructor, January 17, 1911, par. 7CCL 6.4

Reflect: What can you do to build meaningful connections with those outside your age group at church?CCL 6.5
