    Counsel #1 — The Invitation

    Picture: Counsel #1 — The InvitationCCL 112.1

In its simplest form, the gospel is an invitation to get to know Jesus. But, like Jesus suggested in His parable about the wedding feast, some people are invited first and others, with fewer spiritual privileges, are invited later. His disciples (the church) are responsible for going ‘out into the highways and hedges’ to deliver the invitation to others. Today’s highways and hedges may look more like public universities or places of employment. In almost every place, there are people who have never been to church or read a Bible. Jesus wants them to hear His invitation too. Are you ready to be His messenger?[140]https://adventist.news/news/sharing-the-gospel-in-a-secular-worldCCL 112.2

“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.’” Luke 14:23CCL 112.3

“Let every soul in the church consecrate himself to God, and lay all that he has on the altar, going forth by faith into the highways and byways of the world, and in a humble Christlike way do what he can, as he has opportunity to sow the seeds of truth. Sow beside all waters, presenting the truth as it is in Jesus…. To neglect the work of saving souls is a great sin; for it is neglecting to save souls for whom Christ died.” Ellen White in Experiences in Australia, p. 120.3CCL 112.4
