Counsel #4 — God The Son, Jesus Christ

Picture: Counsel #4 — God The Son, Jesus ChristCCL 14.1

The universe was not a cosmic accident. Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, spoke our planet into existence. He's the Divine bridge between humanity and God, revealing God’s love and justice.[16]https://egwwritings.org/read?panels=p14379.4(14379.5),p1965.38188,p11.1157&index=0CCL 14.2

Fully God and fully human, Jesus became flesh, entering our world through the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary. He became the prophesied game-changer, facing all the same challenges we do, even temptation. But He lived a perfect life, showing us what true love and righteousness look like, and encouraging us to live as He did.CCL 14.3

Jesus paid the price for all our sin[17]“The payment for sin is death, But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 ICB (wrong-doing) by willingly suffering and dying on the cross. Then He conquered death by rising from the dead, securing our salvation. Now, He's our Advocate in heaven.[18]“… if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One.” 1 John 2:1 NET We eagerly await His triumphant return, which will mark the final victory for His followers and the ultimate reset button for everything.CCL 14.4

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God with us.’” Matthew 1:23 NKJVCCL 14.5

“Since Jesus came to live with us, every son and daughter of Adam may understand that our Creator is the Friend of sinners. In every divine attraction in the Savior’s life on earth, we see ‘God with us.’” Ellen White in Humble Hero, p. 9 (an adaptation of The Desire of Ages)CCL 14.6

Reflect: In what ways did Jesus face temptations and challenges similar to yours?CCL 14.7
