Counsel #5 — Seek Divine Appointments

Picture: Counsel #5 — Seek Divine AppointmentsCCL 60.1

Have you ever been set up? Maybe you were asked to run an errand and ended up at a surprise birthday party. Or perhaps you found yourself in an awkward situation with someone because a mutual friend thought you should meet. The Bible tells us that God is actively involved in creating divine appointments. A divine appointment is when God uses the events and circumstances of our lives to give us an opportunity to encourage or bless someone else. These opportunities sometimes spark spiritual interest.[87]https://am.adventistmission.org/mqc14q4-2942-dominican-republicCCL 60.2

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.” Psalms 37:23CCL 60.3

“A sister took me heartily by the hand, expressing great joy at meeting sister White again. She inquired if I remembered calling at a log house in the woods twenty-two years before. She gave us refreshments, and I left with them a little book, “Experience and Views.” … Since that time the Lord had sent ministers to preach the truth to them, and now there was quite a company observing the Sabbath…. For twenty-two years our wanderings on this journey have seemed indeed mysterious to us, but here we met quite a company who are now believers in the truth, and who date their first experience from the influence of that little book. Ellen White in The Signs of the Times, October 19, 1876, pars. 6, 10CCL 60.4
