    Counsel #6 — Find Needs

    Picture: Counsel #6 — Find NeedsCCL 109.1

Have you ever heard the acronym WWJD? "What Would Jesus Do?" was a popular catchphrase among young Christians in the late 90s and early 2000s. Asking yourself, “WWJD?” might seem strange. Still, it’s a great way to discover new ways to minister to those around you.[138]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/serving-those-in-need/ Sometimes we overlook people's needs not because they're not obvious but because we forget to ask ourselves the right questions.CCL 109.2

“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4CCL 109.3

There is that selfishness in the human heart that centers our thoughts upon ourselves… not seeing nor sensing the needs of others. We are connected together as in the great web of humanity, and in all our associations with one another we should seek to have the mind of Christ. To close the eyes to the needy and perishing, to leave sinners unwarned, and by indifference and selfishness tempt them to say, No man careth for my soul, is to dishonor God and bring reproach upon the cause of God. Our work is to build up one another in the most holy faith. Ellen White in Letters and Manuscripts, vol. 4, Manuscript 13, 1886, par. 2 CCL 109.4

Reflect: What are some ways you can lend a hand to those in need? Who do you know that could use some help right now?CCL 109.5
