    Counsel #7 — Don’t Be Exclusive

    Picture: Counsel #7 — Don’T Be ExclusiveCCL 70.1

Starting a group by inviting people you know who share your interest is easy, but there’s an added blessing in including those not connected with God or the church. Small groups enable Christians to share their lives as Jesus did with His disciples.[96]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/1993/09/friendship-evangelism Integrating faith into everyday activities is encouraged by Jesus, so why not use the things you already love doing as a chance to share your spiritual life? It doesn’t have to be overwhelming; even simple acts like praising God or praying together with group members can have a significant impact.CCL 70.2

"“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden…. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14, 16CCL 70.3

“Christ bids us give to all, high or low, bond or free, of whatever caste or nationality. Nothing is to exclude any from the privilege of receiving the precious gifts of heaven. As the loaves and fishes, multiplied by the power of Christ, were given by the disciples to the multitude, so the gift of the precious, saving truth is imparted in rich abundance to all who will pass it on to others.... ‘Freely ye have received, freely give.’” Ellen White in Sabbath School Worker, June 1, 1895, par. 4CCL 70.4

Reflect: How can you invite people not connected to your local church to join your small group, and where can you incorporate a devotional element each time you meet?CCL 70.5
