    Counsel #14 — Kindness Counts

    Picture: Counsel #14 — Kindness CountsCSI 16.1

Today’s society is bombarded with increased levels of stress, anxiety, and rising incidents of bullying and cyberbullying. The "Be Kind" Movement is about promoting kindness, compassion, and empathy in our interactions with others. It encourages people to intentionally spread acts of kindness and make the world a better place one small gesture at a time. This movement aligns perfectly with Jesus' teachings and actions, as Jesus Himself demonstrated boundless kindness and compassion towards everyone He encountered, regardless of their background or circumstances.[40]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/a-touch-of-kindness/CSI 16.2

Here are three practical examples of how a person can enact the goals of the "Be Kind" Movement:CSI 16.3

Random Acts of Kindness: Pay for someone's meal in line behind you at the drive thru.
Spread Positivity: Leave encouraging notes or messages in public places, such as on a community bulletin board or in a library book.
Practice Empathy: Take the time to listen attentively to someone who needs to talk, offering a compassionate ear and understanding without judgment.

Driven by a heart renewed by Jesus' love, the impulse to be kind to others exemplifies our faith in Him.CSI 16.4

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10 NIVCSI 16.5

“Kind, gentle words, which show tenderness and unselfish interest, exert a powerful influence for the right.” Ellen White in Review and Herald, April 14, 1904, par. 13CSI 16.6

Reflect: What acts of kindness will you show others today?CSI 16.7
