Counsel #3 — Say “Yes” To Caring

Picture: Counsel #3 — Say “Yes” To CaringCSI 5.1

As a Christian, saying “Yes” to serving people in need is about embodying the love and compassion that Jesus exemplified during His time on Earth. It’s about recognizing the intrinsic value and dignity of every individual, regardless of their circumstances, and extending a helping hand to those in need. Ellen White aptly said, “When you give food to the hungry, clothing to the naked, and shelter to the homeless, you are ministering to the wants of the son of God.”[7]The Desire of Ages, p.639 When you commit to serving others, you’re not just fulfilling a duty; you’re participating in God’s work of restoration and reconciliation in the world. In turn, you’ll be blessed knowing your actions can make a tangible difference in someone else’s life.[8]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/homeless-religion/CSI 5.2

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:13, 14 NIVCSI 5.3

“In your association with others, put yourself in their place. Enter into their feelings, their difficulties, their disappointments, their joys, and their sorrows. Identify yourself with them, and then do to them as, were you to exchange places with them, you would wish them to deal with you.” Ellen G. White in Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 134CSI 5.4
