God made the earth for humanity and gave the planet to Adam and Eve to preserve and protect. Today stewardship of the earth has been compromised by greed and materialism, leading to the exploitation of our planet’s resources. The Seventh-day Adventist church acknowledges that “the ecological crisis is rooted in humankind’s greed and refusal to practice good and faithful stewardship within the divine boundaries of creation.”^{[157]https://www.adventist.org/official-statements/environment/}CSI 107.2

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
