Counsel #5 — Faithful Activism Drive

Picture: Counsel #5 — Faithful Activism DriveCSI 56.1

In today's world, activism takes many forms, often driven by a desire to right wrongs and create balance. Indigenous communities focus on preserving heritage, land rights, and tradition. The Civil Rights Movement sought to correct a history of racial inequality. The Occupy Movement, born in the U.S. but resonating globally, challenges economic disparities and corporate influence. Black Lives Matter and the #MeToo movement are other current and worthy causes making a difference in society today.[93]https://mronline.org/2020/10/04/darius-simpson-scout-bostley-lost-voices/ Amid these diverse causes, believers are moved to action by a higher calling: the freedom Christ sacrificed His life to offer. This desire for positive transformation, rooted in faith, remains a guiding principle in the modern journey with Jesus.CSI 56.2

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 NIVCSI 56.3

“Peculiar and rapid changes will soon take place, and God's people are to be endowed with the Holy Spirit, so that with heavenly wisdom they may meet the emergencies of this age, and as far as possible counteract the demoralizing movements of the world. If the church is not asleep, if the followers of Christ watch and pray, they may have light to comprehend and appreciate the movements of the enemy.” Ellen G. White in Testimonies to the Church, vol. 5, p. 436CSI 56.4

Reflect: How does faithful activism align with the biblical call for transformation and discerning God's will in a rapidly changing world?CSI 56.5
