Picture: Counsel #1 — Breaking Down BarriersCSI 68.1

In the realm of social justice, the terms "equality" and "equity" often serve as vital signposts guiding us toward a fairer and more ethical society. Although they may seem similar at a glance, these concepts possess distinct implications and applications. Equality refers to treating everyone the same, regardless of their individual needs or circumstances; it is about sameness and implies that everyone benefits from the same supports. On the other hand, equity involves fairness, which might necessitate treating people differently to account for disparate circumstances.
