    Counsel #4 — Racial Discrimination

    Picture: Counsel #4 — Racial DiscriminationCSI 39.1

Discrimination and prejudice can be found in many areas of life, such as gender, religion, language, race, economic status, color, appearance, physical ability, or level of education. All social and cultural discrimination is abhorrent to God.CSI 39.2

Today and tomorrow, we will look at what the Bible as well as what Ellen White says about discrimination based on race.[76]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/to-god-they-matter/CSI 39.3

“Then Peter opened his mouth and said: ‘In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.’” Acts 10:34, 35CSI 39.4

“It will always be a difficult matter to deal with the prejudices of the white people in the south…. But the way this matter [racial prejudice] has been treated by some is an offense to God. We need not expect that all will be accomplished in the south that God would do until in our missionary efforts we place this question on the ground of principle, and let those who accept the truth be educated to be Bible Christians, working according to Christ’s order…. Every effort should be made to wipe out the terrible wrong which has been done them [African Americans].” Ellen White in The Southern Work, p. 15CSI 39.5

Reflect: Are there lingering prejudices in your own life prohibiting God’s work from being accomplished?CSI 39.6
