    Counsel #1 — Creation

    Picture: Counsel #1 — CreationCI 3.1

The Bible tells us that when Adam and Eve were created in Eden, they were made in the image of God.[1]https://www.adventist.org/nature-of-humanity/in-gods-image/ This means their nature was holy; united with God’s nature. Their thoughts and choices were in line with the thoughts and choices of their Creator God. Their bodies and minds were perfect, sinless, and free from any taint of evil.CI 3.2

Radiantly happy and guilt-free, Adam and Eve would have continued to grow in their knowledge and appreciation of God and His kingdom of love had they not sinned. Tomorrow we will discuss how the entrance of sin altered Adam and Eve’s nature and the image of God in their lives.CI 3.3

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.’” Genesis 1:26 NKJVCI 3.4

“The life of Christ is to be revealed in humanity. Man was the crowning act of the creation of God, made in the image of God, and designed to be a counterpart of God.” Ellen White in Lift Him Up, p. 48.2CI 3.5

Reflect: Why might God have wanted to create beings in His image and likeness? CI 3.6
