Counsel #14 — Value Of Humanity

Picture: Counsel #14 — Value Of HumanityCI 16.1

If we could wrap our minds around how much God loves and treasures each of us and what He did to save us, sin wouldn’t seem so attractive. We would want to love and bring joy to the One who sacrificed absolutely everything, the One who continues doing all He can so that we can live in heaven with Him for eternity.[14]https://adventistreview.org/the-true-value-of-a-soul/CI 16.2

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” Ephesians 1:3-5 NLTCI 16.3

“The Lord gave His only begotten Son to ransom us from sin. We are His workmanship, we are His representatives in the world, and He expects that we shall reveal the true value of man by our purity of life, and the earnest efforts put forth to recover the pearl of great price.”[15]The merchant in the parable of “the pearl of great price,” is willing to give up everything he owns to obtain the pearl of great value. Jesus is that “pearl of great value.” Having Him in your heart is worth losing every earthly possession. He is infinitely more valuable than anything we could ever possess. Ellen White in Lift Him Up, p.48.4CI 16.4
