Counsel #6 — Nature (And Breathing)

    Picture: Counsel #6 — Nature (And Breathing)CI 55.1

Contemplation of nature, as Jesus encouraged, fosters a sense of awe and gratitude for God's creation.[55]https://www.adventistworld.org/ellen-white-and-the-environment/ Deep breathing techniques, especially outside in the natural world, can be a powerful tool for increasing mindfulness. By focusing on your breath, you can help to slow your heart rate, calm your mind, and become more aware of the present moment in God’s creation.CI 55.2

Taking time to consider the vastness of God’s creation and the extent of His power, such as when we gaze at the stars or consider the rhythm of the ocean waves, helps us appreciate the beauty and complexity of everything God has made. God’s Spirit can open our minds to the connection between Him and His creation, including us! (see Psalms 19:1-6).CI 55.3

“For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 NKJVCI 55.4

“Find rest of spirit in the beauty and quietude and peace of the hills. Look up to the blue sky, unobscured by the city’s dust and smoke, and breathe the invigorating air of heaven.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing, p. 367CI 55.5

Reflect: Where in nature do you experience God most profoundly?CI 55.6
