Counsel #3 — Jesus’ Days Of Service

Picture: Counsel #3 — Jesus’ Days Of ServiceCI 36.1

Have you ever wished you could have shadowed Jesus’ life on earth for a day or two? What would a day in the life of Jesus have looked like?CI 36.2

Jesus actively looked for opportunities to serve others! None who came to Him went away un-helped. Every day His compassion was limitless. With constant self-sacrifice, He spent His days comforting, healing, and encouraging men, women, and children.[32]https://www.adventist.org/remnant-and-its-mission/mission/service/CI 36.3

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 NKJVCI 36.4

“The spotless Son of God hung upon the cross, His flesh lacerated with stripes; those hands so often reached out in blessing, nailed to the wooden bars; those feet so tireless on ministries of love, spiked to the tree, that royal head pierced by the crown of thorns; those quivering lips shaped to the cry of woe…He who stilled the angry waves and walked the foam-capped billows, who made devils tremble and disease flee, who opened blind eyes and called forth the dead to life, — suffers Himself upon the cross as a sacrifice, and this from love to thee.” Ellen White in The Desire of Ages, p. 755CI 36.5

Reflect: In what ways will you imitate Jesus’ example of looking for opportunities to serve others today?CI 36.6
