    Counsel #7 — Adam’s Sin; Christ’s Victory

    Picture: Counsel #7 — Adam’s Sin; Christ’s VictoryCI 9.1

Why is Jesus known as the second Adam? First, He is the head of a new humanity, just as Adam was the head of the first humanity. Second, He is the perfect Representative of humanity, just as Adam was the imperfect original representative of humanity. Third, He has reversed the effects of Adam's sin (see 1 Corinthians 15:21, 22). Just as Adam's sin brought death and condemnation, Jesus' death and resurrection bring life and salvation.[7]https://ssnet.org/blog/thursday-jesus-the-second-adam/CI 9.2

“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act [dying on the cross] the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.” Romans 5:18 NKJVCI 9.3

“The first Adam fell; the second Adam held fast to God, and His Word under the most trying circumstances, and His faith in His Father’s goodness, mercy, and love did not waver for one moment. “It is written” was His weapon of resistance, and it is the sword of the Spirit which every human being is to use.” Ellen White in 10LtMs, vol. 10, Lt 8, 1895, par. 19CI 9.4
