    Counsel #3 — White Supremacy

    Picture: Counsel #3 — White SupremacyCI 44.1

The disgrace of White supremacy is made even worse by its ungodly pairing with Christianity (particularly prevalent in the United States, as prophesied in biblical apocalyptic literature).[40]https://www.npr.org/2020/07/01/883115867/white-supremacist-ideas-have-historical-roots-in-u-s-christianity This unholy amalgamation is the absolute antithesis of the core values that we hold as authentic Christians. The humility, love, peace, and equality of Jesus leaves no room for any kind of prejudice. But, thankfully, if we are willing, He works with us and changes our mindset.CI 44.2

Because of his environment and the culture in which he grew up, even Peter had problems with nationalism and ethnic superiority. God had to tell him three times in a vision[41]Acts 10 that other ethnicities could also be cleansed and accepted by Christ. Only then Peter could accept his call to minister to the Gentiles and spread God’s nondiscriminatory love.CI 44.3

“He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth.” Acts 17:26 NKJVCI 44.4

“I call upon every church in our land to look well to your own souls...Whatever may be your prejudices…unless you put on Christ, and His Spirit dwells in you, you are slaves of sin and of Satan. Many who claim to be children of God are children of the wicked one, and have all his passions, his prejudices, his evil spirit, his unlovely traits of character.” Ellen White in The Southern Work, p. 13CI 44.5

Reflect: Many people are in denial regarding their own prejudices. Are you willing to research the history of racism in your country as well as current acts of racial bias and attitudes in your church, community, and nation?CI 44.6
