Counsel #3 — Be Not Deceived

Picture: Counsel #3 — Be Not DeceivedCFL 5.1

We need not fear death. Jesus has triumphed over death and the grave. If we die believing in Jesus, who died for us (Romans 6:23) and now lives again, He will raise us from our “sleep death” and give us eternal life.CFL 5.2

It is essential, however, to understand what the Bible teaches about death so we won’t be deceived by messages from “the dead” that are actually messages from Satan and his fallen angels (See Revelation 12:7-9).[3]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/can-our-dead-speak-to-us/CFL 5.3

“For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:14 NKJVCFL 5.4

“How can those who believe in man’s consciousness in death reject what comes to them as divine light communicated by glorified spirits? Here is a channel regarded as sacred, through which Satan works for the accomplishment of his purposes. The fallen angels who do his bidding appear as messengers from the spirit world. While professing to bring the living into communication with the dead the prince of evil exercises his bewitching influence upon their minds.”Ellen G. White in The Great Controversy, p. 552CFL 5.5

Reflect: Why do you think Satan wants you to believe that you can communicate with the dead?CFL 5.6
