God’s attributes include both mercy and justice. It is God’s glory to be merciful, full of kindness, longsuffering, goodness, and truth, but it is also His glory to be just by punishing theunrepentant sinners.CFL 68.2
God has always given humanity warning of coming judgments and provided a way of escape through faith in His message for their time. But there must come a time for God to end sin and the suffering it brings.While God’s mercy bears long with the rebellious, there is a divinely determined limit, after which God executes judgement as He did to Pharaoh (see Exodus 7-11).CFL 68.3
