Counsel #4 — Preparation For Time Of Trouble

The best way you can prepare for the Time of Trouble is to ask Jesus to forgive your sins and cover you with His perfect life. Then, God sees you as though you had never sinned. Going forward from that blessing (known as justification), you’d choose to continually surrender your will to God’s will. He’ll give you the power to overcome future sin, saving you through your faith in Jesus’ sacrificial, substitutionary death.CFL 70.2
“But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:6 NKJVCFL 70.3
“Now, while our great High Priest is making the atonement for us, we should seek to become perfect in Christ. Not even by a thought could our Saviour be brought to yield to the power of temptation…. Satan could find nothing in the Son of God that would enable him to gain the victory. He had kept His Father’s commandments, and there was no sin in Him that Satan could use to his advantage. This is the condition in which those must be found who shall stand in the time of trouble.” Ellen White in The Great Controversy, p. 623CFL 70.4
