The professed but unfaithful Protestant world will form a corrupt coalition with the papacy and with those who communicate with the dead (spiritualists) to promote Sunday observance. This multi-church union is already visible as Protestants grant increasing authority and power to the papacy. Under the influence of this threefold union, the United States will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience and denying religious liberty (see The Great Controversy, p. 588).CFL 53.2
