If we are Christ’s, our best thoughts and conversation will be of Him! Heaven will seem really near. We will feel the power of the Holy Spirit weaning us more and more from this world with its pleasures, power, and self-seeking—drawing us to feast instead on heaven’s joys. The attraction to God and heaven will become continually greater as we recognize that everything possible has been done for our salvation from sin and this painfully cruel world!CFL 76.2
“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. . . they desire a better, that is a heavenly country.” Hebrews 11:13, 14, 16CFL 76.3
“All heaven is interested for us…. With our lives we should honor [Jesus], and with pure and holy conversation show that we are born from above, that this world is not our home, but that we are pilgrims and strangers here, traveling to a better country.” Ellen White in Early Writings, p. 113CFL 76.4
