    Counsel #2 — Satan’s Vs. God’s Authority

    Picture: Counsel #2 — Satan’s Vs. God’s AuthorityCFL 52.1

As Creator, God possesses authority to sanctify the seventh day. God declares, “I am the Lord; I do not change” Malachi 3:6.As usurper and rebel, Satan has no authority to change the Sabbath sacredness to the first day. Neither does Satan have the authority to delegate the Roman Catholic church to make the change.[49]https://www.sabbathtruth.com/sabbath-history/how-the-sabbath-was-changedCFL 52.2

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God…. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11 NKJVCFL 52.3

“There is one pointed out in prophecy as the man of sin. He is the representative of Satan…. Here is Satan’s right-hand man ready to carry on the work that Satan commenced in heaven, that of trying to amend the law of God. And the Christian world has sanctioned his efforts by adopting this child of the Papacy—the Sunday institution.” Ellen White in The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 7, p 910.4CFL 52.4

Reflect: Do you see Sabbath observance as a sign of your loyalty to Jesus? (see John 14:15)CFL 52.5
