Counsel #1 — Our Future
Picture: Counsel #1 — Our FutureCFL 83.1
Our future holds only one of two destinies—eternal life or eternal death. We should live every day in as close a connection with Jesus as if it were our last on earth. Each day we can ask the Spirit to convict us of sin and give us the strength to put away anything that hinders us from seeking and finding refuge, peace, and forgiveness in Christ. Nothing can separate a genuine Christian from God (see Romans 8:35-39).CFL 83.2
Our decisions today are determining our eternal destiny. In Christ, we have heaven to win and hell to shun!CFL 83.3
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NKJVCFL 83.4
“The Lord says to the people of the earth, ‘Choose you this day whom ye will serve.’ All are now deciding their eternal destiny. Men need to be aroused to realize the solemnity of the time, the nearness of the day when human probation shall be ended.… [God] would not give any living being an excuse for delaying the preparation for His appearing." Ellen White in Maranatha, p. 108CFL 83.5
Reflect: Do you fear the future, or do you trust Jesus with all your heart and live your life fully surrendered to Him—knowing that your security is in His faithfulness?CFL 83.6
