Counsel #21 — Praying Through Platforms

Picture: Counsel #21 — Praying Through PlatformsCLi 31.1

Prayer isn’t just for sharing our struggles or gratitude with God—it can also shape how we engage with social media. Praying before using these platforms helps us honor God in our online actions, guiding our words and interactions with others.CLi 31.2

Social media often fuels curiosity, leading us to pages that either satisfy the flesh or disturb our spirit. Before opening Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook, we can pray for the strength to guard our hearts and minds against negative influences. The lure of comparison, envy, and idolatry is strong, but God can help us resist these temptations if we ask. It’s easy to be swayed by what we see online, yet just as easy to seek God’s guidance. Using social media to embody the fruits of the Spirit is a challenge we can only accomplish through prayer and God’s strength.[28]https://www.adventistresearch.info/the-importance-of-prayer/CLi 31.3

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24 NIVCLi 31.4

“When God’s people pray earnestly, sincerely, individually, and collectively, God will answer. Great things will happen in and among God’s people. And the world will feel the impact as the Holy Spirit comes to equip and empower His people.” Ellen White in Prayer, p. 1CLi 31.5
