Counsel #5 — Unique In Christ

Picture: Counsel #5 — Unique In ChristCLi 60.1

Self-expression in choosing clothes is great, as long as you recognize the significance of your new nature in Christ. Wear the colors, the fabrics, the styles that you love and that make you feel confident, choosing through the lens of Romans 13:14.CLi 60.2

Build your wardrobe from a few basic things and then accessorize them with more unique pieces that express your personal style and preferences (and to save money, check out second-hand stores from time to time).CLi 60.3

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NKJVCLi 60.4

“[Our clothing] should have the grace, the beauty, the appropriateness of natural simplicity. Christ has warned us against the pride of life, but not against its grace and natural beauty. He pointed to the flowers of the field…. Matthew 6:29. Thus by the things of nature Christ illustrates the beauty that heaven values, the modest grace, the simplicity, the purity, the appropriateness, that would make our attire pleasing to Him.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing, p. 290CLi 60.5

Reflect: Is Jesus pleased with your clothing choices, or do you think He would have suggestions for improvement?[54]https://www.snaderflyby.com/is-modesty-only-a-womans-problem-an-honest-mans-take/ CLi 60.6
