Counsel #6 — Time To Serve

Picture: Counsel #6 — Time To ServeCLi 45.1

Sometimes we might be tempted to think, “I crossed everything off my ‘to-do’ list today, so I managed my time well.”CLi 45.2

But what if the Spirit nudges us in the middle of our carefully planned day to listen to someone with a breaking heart, to help with household chores, to make a phone call to a shut-in, or speak to a lonely person of Christ’s unfailing love? Would we consider that nudge to be an unwanted interruption, or would we be willing to give some of our time in service to others?[41]https://www.adventist.org/remnant-and-its-mission/mission/service/CLi 45.3

“But the Lord said to me: ‘Do not say, ‘I am a youth.’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:7-9 NKJVCLi 45.4

“Every moment is freighted with eternal consequences. We are to stand as minute men, ready for service at a moment’s notice. The opportunity that is now ours to speak to some needy soul the word of life may never offer again.” Ellen White in Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 343CLi 45.5

Reflect: How could you be more mindful of other’s needs and not consider sharing Jesus’ love an interruption?CLi 45.6
