As we learn to love and appreciate Jesus, we long to be like Him in character.^{[113]https://ssnet.org/blog/one-word-of-kindly-cheer/} If we are uncertain if an expression is appropriate for a Christian, it helps to ask ourselves the questions, “Would Jesus say this?” “Would I find this type of language in heaven?”CLi 120.2

Christians are called to be imitators of Christ. Jesus Himself embodied grace, compassion, and love in His words and actions. Profanity, often associated with anger, frustration, or vulgarity, stands in stark contrast to these Christ-like qualities. By choosing your words carefully, you represent God's character more accurately.CLi 120.3
